Survived that nasty hot spell. It was like S. Fla. in late Summer. No sea breeze to save your life. Ocean like an oil slick. Really mean ass weather. It made you want to drink tequila and beer until it all went away. Now it's cool enough I can resume drinking whiskey since this is proper Spring weather, for the next few weeks at least. That is your current local SoCal weather report.

For a couple of days now we got a constant 96F and not one puff to cool you down. Damn it, everything above 77 makes me sweat waterfalls. I hope my three day weekend dehydration procedure helps. It always did on the summer festivals.
Starting sunday things will cool down a bit after getting hotter tomorrow.
Drink!

The problem with getting so hot during the day there isn't enough time for it to cool off to go to sleep. It usually causes power outages because people will turn on their a/c's so they can go to sleep. Living on the coast is the only thing saving me right now. It's overcast and very humid and drunk.

It's only 97 degrees here, so we're copacetic. Now, if it gets above 104, we're gonna get upset.

Massive heatwave in BC, sweating my balls off and trying to cool them with beer.

Doesn't that rather ruin the flavour of the beer?

The whole-summer streak of 100+ degree weather and massive storms every day is over. We are now plunging into the 80s with light rains each day.

Seriously, though, anybody else in the midwest? Is St. Louis the only area that has taken storms almost literally every day this summer ? I think our longest non-storming streak was like 3 days so far this summer.

It's an El Nino Summer on the WC with warm coastal water bringing in moisture from the South during chubasco season. That is hurricane season blowing in over Costa Rica from the Caribbean to the Pacific. All this storm driven moisture has past by and now the regular coast overcast is in place all the while keeping temps here 20 or more degrees lower than outlying areas like the inland valleys.

Yeah, well here in Hellmet, the 100 degree-plus temps are only warming up (bada bing!) for the big late-summer-late autumn blast, that, if we are lucky, will calm down sometime around Halloween.
