I'm holding down the homestead with a screwdriver, finishing up some things for work, while the lady folk are out shopping for Thanksgiving food.

This is actually a flip of our normal as I'm usually the cook for the house. This year, however, I'm taking a break while Jack and Coke and my daughter take over the reins and I gotta say, i think I'm a do this more often.

I'm getting older, I'm always tired; it's okay to take a break, I guess. Or at least that's what my mother is always trying to tell me. I was in a dreadful and morose panic attack Monday, "I don't have time to even get a turkey! When will I even start cooking?!" And Jack just said, "I got it, we can cook, don't worry!"

I guess. I don't know.

Whatever the case: Here's to riding the bench. Sometimes it's the only way to enjoy the game, while playing.

Cheers!

So it begins... Watching Treasure of Sierra Nevada drinking Sherry. Italian dinner for tonight. Typical Thanksgiving fare for tomorrow which will be accompanied by Marsala wine. Solo holidays are the best.

I'm guessing Fino means dry? I'm no sherry expert by a long shot. Happy holidays! Cheers!

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer.

Thanks for Wild Turkey and Whistle Pig and Buffalo Trace and American Spirit and Red Man Chew. And while were at it, Jeep Cherokees, Washington Redskins, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Indian Motorcycle company..
Amen to Buffalo Trace. That is a beautiful whiskey for the price.

I'm part German, but the Irish fights it out. The rest is English, and you know how boring they are. So we'll be eating turkey and all the stuff. Trashing Trump, putting up the Christmas wreath, watching the newest babies be babies. I hope everyone will make it-- unless they close the grapevine.
I'll be looking forward to Christmas, which has the best music. Christmas is fun because there isn't a set expected menu. I'm thinking of a roast whole tenderloin, Grumpy's bread, mustard and aioli, and a ton load of fancy Christmas cookies and bars. And, of course, my Grandma's fabulous potato salad, which has about as much vegetable as it does potato. And the usual cheeseball, on its 49th farewell tour. Don't forget the FRUITCAKE!

My Thanksgiving includes stuffing your mom and taking as many helpings as I want.

Bottoms up! <-- That's what I just told your mom.
