Had to go out and buy some new equipment for my computer and a new phone (one of those brick-like cellphones that were state-of-the-art technology back when this board came to life). Bracing the scalding sun frying my hungover head was one thing; having to deal with bored salesmen pestering me about whether I need help almost sent me into a homicidal spree. Managing not to strangle any salesman, I finally made it home and now I relax with a nice, tall gin and tonic. And having a job interview tomorrow means I have to try and pass out early enough so I can get up on time, so...time to start guzzling.
I hope you got the job! Meeting stupid people while being hungover is a drunkard`s worst possible nightmare come true

The process is taking too long, have met some bureaucratic obstacles, and, admittedly, I'm beginning to get pissed with the whole ordeal, especially due to their attitude that reeks of desperation and excessive friendliness. Came too close today to tell them to shove it, but figured I should show a bit more patience.

This is a bad sign. I recently had a job interview that was rescheduled 3 times on account of their availability.

I did a trial day and never heard back from them. Took it as an indicator that they're not the kind of people I'd like to work with anyways, so I let it go.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

Always sucks when you don't even get an explanation as to why it didn't work out. At least, you only wasted a day on them.

They're pushing for me to start on Thursday even though we haven't yet signed any official hiring papers, and I'm waiting to see if tomorrow they'll come up with a proper solution to the bureaucratic problem we're facing (instead of expecting me magically to solve it on my own, in a country where things like that can take weeks to be resolved). They are offering a decent wage, but now I'm starting to think it's nowhere near enough if I have to deal with them on a daily basis.

Mostly yard work and some remodeling, mostly the stuff you do with a beer in your hand

try doing all three simultaneously with a beer in hand.

I went to the flea market this morning, without a beer in hand, and bought CDs I didn't need.
And now......beer.

Just one? Make it a little challenging atleast.

I can tip toe a third beer on my nose while doing all that

Off once again to the great drunk north. First priority: I need to get the deer fencing up and the rest of the raised garden beds built. Then the planting needs to be done. Then I need to cut some more oak and continue clean-up from the Memorial Day shitfest of tornadoes and straight line winds. It would be handy to drug and kidnap a half dozen Amish and put them on a chain gang. But then I wouldn’t have the sweaty, grime ridden pleasure of accomplishing the work myself.

The reward will be Scotch and a fat burger or a steak which are always more satisfying after burning a ton of calories. Last week I wolfed down a 14 ounce ribeye like it was a snack.

I’ll catch up with y’all this weekend and will try not to kill myself too badly with the chainsaw or the tractor. I’d rather die drunk, stoned and fishing with the Swedish bikini team. Cheers.

I too have to finish my planting, although I'm using pots not raised beds. Not that I have a lot too plant. I got what they call a late start.

I was watching sport while preparing a pasta salad while getting drunk.
I hope it`s good, my father celebrates his 60th highschool anniversary. Yikes those old fucks. I bet their tongues are broken anyway, so they won`t taste my drunken cooking at all.
I hate drunken bbqing for other people. For me and AD it`s fine, but other folks: no no no no

I`m freaking wasted and they`re not even here and ready for food yet. I should microwave them something
