Aw shucks I feel a little bashful with a thread dedicated to my birthday but thank you BF, it is appreciated.
I am thankful to be a newb here to at least not have the thread begin with "little known facts, random known shit", or gawd knows what else. :D

It was indeed, filled with liquor and happiness. Started the weekend off drinking with some of you drunkards which is always a delight. On Sunday, went to a friends BBQ and had slabs o' ribs and dirty martini's with bleu cheese olives...neither of which I never get to have very often. A cake was baked for me with my name on it spelled in M & M's. (I don't even like cake but it was still a nice gesture). Did not contract any herps, gonorrhea, or any other STD's of interest. A few construction workers were present but nobody saw anybody in birthday suits. I guess that's a good thing? Next year I will try harder. Or maybe next year I will celebrate it with you drunkards at the Summer '18 trip.

Thank you for joining in the mix here with your new-found community of fellow and Lady Modern Drunkards. Well met indeed. Many "newbs" are involved here, of which I will always be counted. It is good to have your continue on, and now it is time to

to your continued involvement and thoughtful humor. Hell yes.



I have a couple of thoughts about it all, if you will lend me your bottle for a couple chugs...

When FKR created this marvelous Island, the internet was less of a private information-stealing world. Inaugural community members who continue to contribute here also explored and became friends, much like newbs now, but they were blessed with more freedom to get to know about each other in real life.

However, there were some strange people who felt that they should threaten the community members here for their own insane reasons. Of course, the world these days is full of such ugliness.

My other thought is that we should continue on as a true ship crew, band of drinkers, and/or even a Tribe of Modern Drunkards in order to become more cohesive. We must DRINK against the DRYing of freedom to drink as we will.

i truly think that it's the only way.

There are many more islands to seek out there among the wild and stormy seas, but always remember,


We MDMers are the Real Pirates. Our enemy is the ones who would dare to stop us in our exploration for the perfect island of booze treasures and further enjoyment of Lovely Miss Ethyl.
