Scotch for me. Vile, tastes like ashtray.

I'm not a fan either. I wish I liked it. I mean, I really want to like it, but I don't.

I like Scotch, but even the really peaty stuff can throw me off every once in a while. Yeah, Laphroaig, I'm talking to you.

Herbal stuff, especially unicum. I'll still drink it but say 3-4 shots is where I draw the line unless puking is on the table. Also my friend's chili vodka made from 60-80% stuff with a Caroline reaper or something similar in it is a annual tradition I dread.

I tried that out a few weeks ago when Patchez and I went to Timonium. I stumbled into their stand first and lost my Laphroig cherry there. It tasted like smoked mackerel. I like smoked mackerel a lot. I like a good steak a lot. I went and found P at that charcoal briquette whisky stand and had him finish my shot. His eyes lit right up and he made a bee-line to the smoked mackerel.

Only drink I think I won't try again is Lao-Lao.

It tastes like swearing in front of a Jewish nun. Soapy in the mouth.

I LOVE peaty scotches. This is something I need to treat myself to again. Lagavulin 21 is the best thing I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, it was a limited bottling and now all of the available bottles are jacked up in price.

Does the "chili" part of this taste like chili peppers or chili (as in chili con carne)?
