Working for the Evil Empire

Post by Patchez »

Would it be against the Petition to work for Brown Foreman? I'ts not like I'd be buying any of their products. Hell they'd be paying me. Hopefully they'd do payday cases like the craft brewers do. Then I could be like Robinhood. Taking from them and giving the excess away.

What brings this all on is there is an electrician's gig in KY that is currently open.

I've been at the bottom of the unskilled labor barrel my whole life. If you can find a better gig somewhere else go for it dude.

I just bought a bottle of Jack rye. First TJD I've bought in well over 12 years. Considered not doing it, but couldn't.

The Petition has to do specifically with purchase of Brown Whoreman product. However, it says nothing about accepting a well salaried position or fringe benefits from them.

If you want my vote, I say do it. There are waaaaay worse gigs than working at a distillery... wait, KY? I thought they were based in TN?

Get that money.
Unanimous here from our MDM cohorts so far: employment does not infringe upon the canon.

Furthermore, you simply cannot turn down free booze if it's ever offered to you. That would disrespect Bacchus, isn't that true?

Get that money.

DRINK!

Louisville to be precise. I'll assume it's the Old Forester distillery but not positive. *edit* After viewing it form the birdseye picture the giant water tower in the shape of a bottle with "Old Forester" on the label confirms my suspicion.

Also when I broached the subject with the wife it was not well received. So the point is moot.

Just to keep us uninitiated abreast, what's wrong with working with Brown Foreman? Are they shamboozlers?

They own Jack Daniel's, and the all the fuss is about them lowering JD's proof.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

I don't think that's a bannable offense anymore. We just have to admit we lost that one. Those still fighting are like Southerners that refuse to admit they lost the Civil War.
