Drunk Dreaming

Depends on my state.

Usual pass out in bliss, well, I'm sure it's awesomesauce with A1 on top and maybe some ice cream with a cherry on top. Sometimes they approach lucidity, which is maybe ironic.

Next morning, drying out:

Amazingly disturbing dreams about Terminator-like futures and figuring out how to protect my daughter. Overarching concerns about supplies.

Just dry, on those rare occasions:

I dream of eating cocktail onions just because of the word cocktail. I'm at a bar that never serves me. I awake in a panic.

I dream of having a chocolate shop, as in Chocolat, or my old boss's place. And learning how to manipulate Lucite, so I can replicate the purses I collect. And having a teeny-tiny restaurant. Also, publishing my own books, and the books of people who do it right, and selling them in a fab little bookshop, with a lovely used-book section, and classical music playing, and yeah, the cat. Gotta have the cat. Writing workshops for the little ones.

Uh, when I drink I pass out in all sorts of places, but don't dream.
Though after a week or so after being undrunk I start having dreams involving my favorite drinking people. It's some of that stuff you don't want to wake from, yo.

Many years ago, when I learned that many people did not dream in Technicolor, I was shocked. Don't even ask those folk about the soundtrack. And-- no sense of smell, no touch, no taste? What the hay? Are those people dream-impaired? The dream time is the time when your sensibilities are heightened, and you are more than you can be and you can sense more than you can sense while awake in the mundane.

Last night I dreamt of university, which somehow led to me being a passenger in a silver convertible - although I'm pretty sure it was a bathtub converted into a car - which caused me to sing 'Silver Machine' by Hawkwind.

Makes sense.
