Reasons why I quit AA

I went to a "living with an alcoholic" group with my mum once cause she asked me to and i'm a fuckin awesome son...the alchohlic in question was my dad who is also awesome but who' has a fucked liver.

yeah awesome drinking stories all night that made me wanna get the names and numbers of all these "family members" and organise a pub crawl.

was slightly awkward when i brought my dog with me and introduced him by his name....'Jim Beam'

They all wanted to hear drinking stories. So everyone told some real doozies. Fuckin'-A great tales. Each one of them was better than the one that came before. There was a guy who drove his car onto a Mississippi river boat and played a few hands of poker, a guy that fell down three flights of stairs and didn't feel a thing, a girl that was able to make off with $450,000 from the place she worked, and a guy who passed out and woke up in Reykjavík Iceland. These people, I thought to myself, were people who I wanted to hang out with. They seemed great. But each of those stories ended with crazy shit like "that's when I knew I had to stop.... and that's why I'm here."

What The Fuck?

And the guy who tried robbing a bank from the drive-thru teller line. He had a pistol and a note that read "Give me all your money or you will shoot yourself," and placed both items in the little canister and sent it through the pneumatic tube system. That guy, well, that guy deserves AA.

So there was the TV executive working in L.A. at CBS who got so drunk and went to turn on his TV which was the old CRT old gen and fell head first thru the screen.

There was this battered live in spouse who got fed up and when her mate passed out on the sofa with his penis out, she crazy glued his hand to his joint then left town.

Then there was the guy that had a big Thanksgiving dinner at his house and invited a bunch of folks while he baked a huge turkey. He got everything ready and put the bird in the oven then started entertaining guests and of course drinking and playing cards. When it came time to check on the food 6 hours later, he discovered he never turned on the oven!

AA was never the same when everyone quit

One of my stepdaughters was ordered to go. She had to sit in a smoke-filled room, drink inky coffee, and listen to old people (late twenties to death) talk about hitting bottom, and then they would read from the big blue book. And then all the grownups would go across the street and buy booze. Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to locate the AA hall there?
Well, the AA hall was a formerly notorious biker dive bar, lost in a court judgement.
