Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical
aquatic ceremony.
aquatic ceremony.
“Süßen witwe Mutter-Hosen — kommst du hier mit mein knackenpfeife schnell, oder Ich zeige Ihnen mein Zuhälter Hand!”
"I am going to pistol-whip the next person who says 'shenanigans' "
"Rectum? It nearly killed him!"

Re: FREE HEALTH CARE!
Many folks have raised very good points both for and against said bill. I feel that many of my points were rather sidelined, but whatever.
What does concern me is this notion that gets caught in the middle of the argument:
That because this bill may not be set up to work too well, all social health programs are bad and harmful. The true depravity and squalor that some people really are forced to live in, and the number of people that die either in hospitals due to malpractice or for living without healthcare.... It's just too much.
You say a band-aid is not good enough, and it's true. But you need something to stop the bleeding sometimes, and America's been bleeding heavily for some time.
I say this, and like Ozz, I despise going to the doctor. I avoid the dentist at all costs. (I've visited dentists any number of times in my life and still my teeth got worse.... mind you they're all private businesses in Canada...). Last time I saw the doctor was in 2006 or 2007 for a blood test and to get a skin condition checked out. Didn't fix it. Didn't know what it was. Didn't seem to care. It comes and goes on its own.
However when I had hernia surgery, it was all covered. I would never have been able to afford it in a privatized system. I'd be living with it still, or be in double the debt that I am.
(On a side note: Deebocool, I'm also a card-carrying member of the IWW. IU 440. Soon to be a member in the CAW (Canadian Auto Workers), too, due to an organizing drive at work haha.... though they're a slight bit less holy in my eyes. It's better than leaving my best interests to my bosses....)

I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and I sigh.

Mother Goose, why do you think socialized medicine is bad? They have it in pretty much every western country except USA and it works great. It is cheaper and provides better care.
The last thing that anyone should ever do is feel ashamed of blacking out. You were trying to get drunk last night and, goddamnit, mission accomplished.

I wasn't responding to you, but go ahead and describe what it is you want if this bill is a such a tragedy and injustice. How would you fix the issue of millions of people without insurance and millions more who are denied coverage the moment they get sick.felinamojokitty wrote:my dear hoverdog..what i want?hoverdog wrote:Alright then, NYdingbat describe what it is you actually want. Who is your ideal candidate? Ron Paul? You will not be silenced, but you seem to have very little to say.
I argued health care in another thread I don't remember the name of right now, to the same people. I'm not going to write the same things again, but I'll try to see if I can find it.
NYD does not speak for me..
i think the other thread was deebcool you posted on..
my ideal candidate? and i have very litte to say?
you will not get my goat youngster..

what i would like to see are your solutions and such rather than spew mark of the beast, etc.
side note to thread and this is not ageism...chances are anyone under 30 in the USA and went to public school...indoctrinated with encroaching liberalism..
it's ok you believe what you believe..just wait until college is over..the real world is another story..
check history the democrats were the party of slavery..
and regarding all these stories re: threats etc. i find it all hard to swallow no proof on many incedences..
there are fringe nuts in every party except the MSM refuses to point out leftist ones.. nor the incidents recently with 2 repubs..
look this is not a fight about left and right..something seems fishy all around.

My solution? Universal Health Care financed with taxes. It's how all the other western countries do it. I live in one of them and it really works. The setup where people don't have insurance and go to ERs to get care costs more and provides worse care. Simple as that. If you were really going with "you don't have insurance or money so fuck you" that might be cheaper but you are not. Tax payer money is used every time someone goes to an ER and can't pay.

is there a big illegal drain on your er's? etc.?
how long do you wait?
do you really want the /your government telling you what you can do to your body?
bottom line is after 50 in UN terms you are worthless unless in the elite..
did you research agenda 21 or codex?
didn't prince charles himself say population needs to be reduced?
this is not some conspiracy shit (though i love a good conspiracy!)
so of course! everyone ele is doing it.It's how all the other western countries do it.
your solution still is pablum
tax the rich pay for the poor...what happens to the middle class? who are considered priveledged? and taxed just as much..
insurance lobbies are out of control..yet government bribes are rampanyt.
everything is fear based...i don't think anyone can dispute that..
if you can sew a thanksgiving turkey you can sew your finger back on if need be..

The cabin sits shut-down, cold-frozen and empty, dead mice in the traps, waiting for me to drink alone there in the dark.

Re: FREE HEALTH CARE!
We pay way more in taxes yes, and taxation is way more progressive. That is not a bad thing. Portugal and Greece have lower taxes and are less "socialist" than Finland or many other EU countries. That is not a good thing. Those countries have a great many problems that have nothing to do with health care or taxation.
The US government tells you what to do all the time, you might not like it but that's how it is. I have no idea what you are talking about with Prince Charles...
If everyone else is doing it and it is working why can't USA do it? American exceptionalism in reverse?
