I don't know a whole lot about this bill other than it'll move your healthcare system more similar to ours. Its happening in a different country, I generally don't read up on other countries' legislation. Since you seem to have read up a lot about it, how do you think it will effect Canada?

Not that it's my primary concern, but it will affect Canadians just north of the border who routinely visit American hospitals in border states for medical attention. Ask 'em. Mostly, I am concerned with the tyranny this will impose on the American people. WE WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS. We are fighting this monstrosity and we will continue to do so until it is DEAD. These dirtbag tyrants in the White House and congress WILL NOT defeat us. We are more committed to preserving our rights than they are to stealing them. Victory is NOT an option.

America is interesting. To move from Bush's corporate-communist conservatism and war measures government to Obama's strange strange brand of apparently sloppy socialist..... war measures government........ it's so strange.

A health reform is a good thing, and I think something that won't feel as big a burden as you think. The same way you pay taxes so that every lazy person that drives a car or rides a bus can have a smooth ride to work. This one item should not be as big a deal as it seems to be with people. It's all the other garbage being swept in and dumped in the pot with it that makes it stink to so many, I think.

Many folks including yourselves would likely reap the benefits of such a health care system. A move like that, to pay into the common pot your share so that you don't have to be a high-wage earner to be able to go to the hospital to save your life.

However something like those ID cards is almost unbelievable. Absolutely regrettable. Both folks on the left and right feel the same on that one, I'm sure, and they need to speak together to quash it.

Also, look at the picture. I suppose its reasonable to assume that the camera man happened to zoom in on just that one spot at the protest where all of the UGLY people were concentrated, and that all the beautiful protesters are located somewhere else.

My dad was a GP, I'm old enough to have seen both systems in action.

In the beginning our public system was very good, that's because the doctors were running it. They were hard nosed professionals who didn't waste time and money, they didn't waste their time and money, and they didn't waste your time and money. You called the doctor, they came out to your house and treated
you, they didn't stick 40 sick people together in a germ infested "waiting room".

Now you have a bunch of basically bureaucrats, they want a visit every six months, a urine sample, and control over your diet and exercise, I don't have a
doctor anymore, they wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole, didn't like my attitude, or the fact that i wasn't going to come in every 6 months, or quit smoking my pipe, or quit drinking 48 beer a week, or quit drinking whiskey, or staying up to 2 in the morning, or having a pet rat, but what really pissed them off was
the fact I WASN'T GOING TO OBEY.

I'm not going to obey, but with a public system, I certainly am going to pay. Big bucks for bad indifferient service.

In all honesty our health system does need to be reformed. Doctors in other countries do not make as much as the doctors here. Everything costs to damn much, and most doctors are just there for the money, although a few do care. That just dosent make sense to me, all the poor and middle class struggling to get some antibiotics but cant because the current system is a monopoly with all the health corporations out there to make a buck. Many of us need lower and regulated rates or the doctors to take a cut in pay and be compleatly funded by the government. Doctors in europe (I think) make just slightly more then the average joe, and they dont have a problem. As far as national security, thats all a joke. Our troops, and I was one who fought in Iraq, need to be home. Our being overseas wasteing money and losing lives does not keep them from comming here, we are not a world police. Our troops can defend from here, were they are needed. A retnal scan or other biometrics is just another way for uncle sam to keep an eye on us and regulate the american people. Its all bull shit!!! I think this country is on a downward spiral and will lose control from the inside out, just like rome. Our government is killing us little by little, we are the most, or were, the most powerfull nation, but we are losing control.

So far I'm just reading the article about the volatile politics surrounding the Jordan River whenever I take a shit, which is often enough, thank you Champagne of Beers.

Anyways, there's a statistic about how Americans on average use 100 gallons of water while people in the 3rd World will get by just using 5, and there was a statistic about showers, too, and I started thinking about all that shit they tell you, turn off the water when you brush your teeth, fill the sink to shave, take shorter showers.

But man, I was just in the shower and even after I washed all the soap off and the shampoo out, I was like, "Man, this feels so good. Yo, Fuck Africa" and I stayed in the shower for another 5-10 minutes. I even turned up the temperature, which means burning more oil in my summer-winter hookup

Americans have water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants, 3 world has a dirty pit inside an old tire that they lower a bucket into. Thats
why americans use 100 gallons and the 3th world uses a bucket full, that they don't mention is that americans return 100 gallons of clean water, whereas
the 3rd world returns 5 gallons of untreated sewage. There isn't a water shortage, there is a shortage of willingness to pony up in certain natural arid areas
not wanting to paid the full price for living there, as well as cutting all the trees and paving everthing so the rainfall declines in that aquafier.
