I just learned how the accomplished Edward Everett was the main speaker on the day of the Gettysburg Address. Lincoln's appearance was a maybe, hence the comparative brevity of his remarks.

Very cool.

Brevity is indeed the soul of wit, Sir Rocker. Yet, there is a Polonius afoot tonight, selling Mad Man wares.

Being that I live right next to the town of Gettysburg, I should have gotten to some of the ceremonies but couldn't be bothered enough to fight the horrendous traffic involved. Quaint little town but not designed to handle 250,000 people and the traffic flow that they bring. I'm headed to my cabin just past G-spot in the am. May find an overlook to drink and watch the town's firework display. Should be impressive with all the hoopla.

Saw the 135 Anniversary Reenactment's Full-Scale Pickett's Charge from a Front Row Seat: And by front seat I mean I was IN the Bloody Angle Reenacting Pickett's Charge. Pretty awe-inspiring.

Good times.
