In 1529, a coalition of armies belonging to the European kingdoms assembled in Vienna in order to fight the ultimate fight against a force coming from the Orient. The force was reputed invincible and promised, among other atrocities, a diet devoid of beer nor delicatessen.
That is when mercenaries present in the vicinity of Vienna decided that a future without beer was absolutely unacceptable (some of them were muslims). They gathered in the besieged city and contributed greatly to the unlikely and heroic victory of that day. The mines placed by the invaders under the walls of the city were defused by fearless men full of beer and the scattered Ottoman troops had to run to escape the fury of legendary swordsmen. The European "home" would be safe for a little bit longer. The moral of that story is that you should not attack the cities where beer is being brewed and piss off the locals around last order time, especially when there are old soldiers around.
