My brim is tipped low, my drink held high.

That I did not know him, yet feel the weight of his passing.

My most sincere cheers.

Got a handle of Ten High, and raising my glass (and might I add the first bourbon for me in a LONG time) to Mr. Flask.

I hardly knew ye, but what little we talked was shared laughs and good times. You rolled the way you wanted to roll. So few of us can actually say that.

You, sir, were, are, and forever will be a magnificent bastard. Here's to you for pointing me to the one store in town with Ten High, for making us all smile a little more in our lives, and for being Mr. Flask.

You will be missed. *clink*

PS - Ten HIgh's not shabby at all.

Testify. WIth Hoss I sick, I don't have to sweat getting up as early. Plus, one can never raise one's glass enough to a fallen friend.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Another one.
I'll miss you, pallie.

Once upon a time I came across this message board that was completely unique. A few characters distinguished themselves early on, and one had the greatest member name I had ever seen. DrunkenJackFlask.

Perhaps one other member on this, the MDM board, made me want to join the chorus of drunken celebration so much as Tim's inimitable personality did.

Though we never met, girlie and I had the distinct pleasure of speaking to Tim on the phone several times. And of course to his lovely young bride. We're not on the board so much as we used to be, but we're both saddened at the loss of such a fine man, and our heart goes out to you Meggie. Know that you're in our thoughts, as is your beautiful betrothed, may he rest in peace.

With great remorse, admiration, and fond memories,

The Ds.

There is a cache of Ten High handles at the fancy shmancy wine store near us. For years now I have intended to buy one of those dusty bottles and see what all the fuss is about, but the allure of Beam and the readiness of plastic has conspired to defer that experience.

And so it appears I will be drinking my fist pull of Ten High in eulogy. Enough procrastinating.

I was tellin BMMS the other day, DJF had the wit and personality that kept you coming back here.
I remember when I hung out with him in SD while I was out there on vacation, he gave me a bottle of Bookers, fucking Bookers right there on the spot.
I told him that I would drink it with him the next time we hung out. Well, I never made it back to SD, and I still have that bottle. That's one bottle I'm never gonna open.
BMMS is wrong.

If you never open it, it will always remain a bottle. Could be anything in there.

I think there will be a day when you open that bottle. When you know it's time. Maybe with some dear friend you haven't drank with in years, or some soul searching moment when you feel like all that's left is you and the perfect drunk.

I think that you need to commit to one day opening and drinking from that bottle, because he didn't give it to you for any other reason than to know that you might drink that Bookers and smile in gratitude. If that doesn't happen, maybe the gift isn't complete.

Or maybe I don't know shit. But I think it's just a bottle if you never drink it.

You'll know when the time is right.

Cheers, my friend.

I am in shock. A world without Tim? Megan, I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you, stay strong. At least you had him close as long as you did. He was a kind man. I can't imagine him every having a bad thought for anyone; truly, he loved everyone.
