There's tell that the long anticipated Ridley Scott project is getting off the ground with Denis Villeneuve as director. Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as replicant hunter Rick Deckard with Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright and Jared Leto as supporting cast. No plot details have been released. But Scott is promising to answer the eminently debated question of whether or not Deckard is in fact himself a replicant.
This is either going to be massively cool, or it will be a pile of cinematic turd to rival Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Release date is set for 2017, which is interestingly only two years before the date in Phillip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? upon which Blade Runner is based.
Thoughts?
