Found myself in the Matrix and took the red pill. Now I want the blue pill and my bottle and leave me alone.

Thank you. At the very least I'm grateful this is heterosexual entertainment. Cheers!

Why wasn't this song adopted as the official theme song for the Day Without a Woman movement?Artful Detective wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2017 12:54 amI LOVE the FREAKIN CARS!!

Yeah, but it was before CGI. Lot of work went into their stuff for MTV.
Older sis had albums of KISS and The Cars, and other polar opposites of cheesy 70's/80's music. but I did *ahem* borrow the album cover art when folks were out of the house. hey, I was a teen. Not trying to be gross.

Because it isn't angry enough for the Pissed Off Women's Movement perhaps? Now Alanis Morrissette "You Outta Know"...that might work.Dear Booze wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2017 6:21 amWhy wasn't this song adopted as the official theme song for the Day Without a Woman movement?Artful Detective wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2017 12:54 amI LOVE the FREAKIN CARS!!

There ain't nothing gross about dat! Gross would have been if you *ahem* borrowed KISS instead of that. :Dmistah willies wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2017 9:17 pmYeah, but it was before CGI. Lot of work went into their stuff for MTV.

Well shit, then maybe the Men's side of A Day Without A Woman can use it. The video shows a vacuum cleaner operating by itself, a guitar (instead of a woman) in the bed, and a bunch of guys having a party in the living room. Great time. Ol' Ric didn't miss her at all.Artful Detective wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2017 2:41 pmBecause it isn't angry enough for the Pissed Off Women's Movement perhaps? But what was with the chick on the floor at the end?
Now, back to my rum.

Absolutely! And you are exactly supporting my initial point of not sure how I would feel if man sang this about me because it's hard to tell if he's happy about it or not.Dear Booze wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2017 4:34 pmWell shit, then maybe the Men's side of A Day Without A Woman can use it. You make valid points where I would also agree he is happier. Now that she's gone, Ric also has a hell of a lot more dresser space (both inside and out), closet space, and obviously more living space to invite his friends over since the movers took her crap out. The only negative is that he will have to make his own sunny side eggs (unless she took the skillet), and not have a table to sit on.
I think the girls on the floor was a "ghosts of girlfriends past" sort of reference. They're gone, but not really. Enjoy your rum!

Re: Whatcha listening to?
BTW, The Cars are one of my favorites too. I've had the pleasure of seeing them twice. But have never had the chance to hear Ric Ocasek sing live.
The first time, Ric was there but was sick. So, Benjamin Orr sang everything. The second time, Ric was long gone and Todd Rundgren was fronting the band. The upside was that The Cars also backed him as he performed "Hello It's Me" and "I Saw the Light". Orr was also gone by then, but Kasim Sulton, from Utopia, was a fine replacement on bass.
