bourbon and orange soda

Post by DeeboCools »

It has to be orange soda because it's the "zesty" taste from oranges(or artificial orange flavor) instead of the sour taste or orange juice.

I seriously love this combo. I mostly drink shots + chaser, so I was taking old crow shots chased with sunkist. the flavors mix in a nice harmonious way, where you taste both the flavors in your nasal cavity. I mixed a drink out of it from curiosity, and it was just about as good with about half/half bourbon to soda. I just prefer shots.

So yeah, try it. It'll get you drunk.

I never mix bourbon with anything except ice.

I don't think Old Crow is too bad. Matter of fact, I like it.

Have you tried it with Mexican Fanta? A lot of the places I get my Mexican Coke (the really real thing: Corn es por tortillas!) from, including Wal-Mart, have orange Fanta, also with pure cane sugar.

I can see this being palatable, with the vanilla notes of bourbon playing nice with the sweet orange, kinda like a creamsicle. Myself, I find bourbon, especially the cheap stuff, to be sweet enough, so usually just use ice or club soda. Sometimes go for a whiskey sour, or a Manhattan, natch.
