The Gilded Monk

Post by Mrs Glenfiddich »

I have often dreamt of a golden nectar of the Gods, a drink that was sweet and tasty, yet powerful. I think I finally found it today. I am absolutely broke and was wondering what concoctions I could come up with using a few odds and sods of bottles that I had around the house. I was reading a cocktail book that I had purchased recently and came across a drink by the name of 'The Godfather' which consists of equal quantities of scotch and amaretto on the rocks. So I thought I would improvise with what I had and ended up with Chivas, Frangelico and ice - thus the Gilded Monk was born. It is a very tasty and warming drink if you are in the mood some something sweet, but the amount of scotch can be upped if you want something a little drier. And of course a cheaper scotch can be used, I am going to give it a try with Grants when I get paid!
