not a new recipe, but...

i only just started seeing this Bulleit bourbon for sale over here. its pretty expensive so i was just wonderin if it was worth buyin some in....anyone have any knowledge/experience of it?

I've had it. It's not bad. In my neck of the woods, it's priced similarly to Elijah Craig and Elmer T. Lee -- all three run in the $17-21 range, depending on where you get them, if I remember correctly. I think Elijah Craig and Elmer T. Lee are both better than Bulleit, but Bulleit's good too. It's just, in my opinion, a bit less complex than the other two. But try it. Plus, it comes in a cool old-fashioned looking bottle.

I have a bottle and this review is spot on. I think it was more expensive, though, and Franken has more info on Bulleit, I believe.

I'll 3rd the above, Bulleit is palatable but not great, I'd take Elijah Craig or JB Black over it any day.

i have never seen Elijah Craig here and JB Black seems quite elusive too.

i havent drank much bourbon before, so i was kinda wonderin what a good 'start-off' bourbon would be... :?
