Negromancer's Norse cocktails

Post by Negromancer »

Alrighty. I thought I would share with you my concoctions as I just shook up another.
They kinda reflect my booze cabinet, which might not be exactly what most people stock at all times, but what the heck.

White Rugian
This was my first, as far as I can remember.
One parts vodka, one parts cultured milk (or kefir, if you must).
Pour it in a milk glass with something to stirr it, as the contents are bound to part.
It's a nice and fresh, crisp drink. It kinda blunts the vodka. Enjoy it with pickles.

Invasive barbarian
Two parts lambic beer, one parts red wine, both chilled well.
Fun fact: archaeological evidence indicates viking age Scandinavians imported wine and mixed it with locally produced beer, like some sort of blood curdling cocktail. Ain't too bad actually, I think.

Langobardtini
Aquavit and mead, mix like you would with your idea of a perfect martini. Shake it like the man who murdered your brother. Garnish with... I don't know, smoked sausage or something. Drink from a cocktail glass or, for dramatic effect, the skull of your wife's dead dad* or ex-husband.

*Fun fact: King Alboin of the Langobards is famous for slaying king Cunimund and marrying his daughter, and would allegedly tease his bride by making her drink from her dad's skull at feasts.

Serve this to your girlfriend:

Sigrlinn
Two parts rum
One parts drambuie
+ a good squirt of elderflower liqueur

shake with ice in a cocktail shaker, strain and serve in a cocktail glass.

Edit: Seriously arschlochs, if you get hold of elderflower liqueur DO NOT let this go, it is alluringly tasty.

Btw can somebody move this to the "Astonishing new drink recipes" part of the board. I'm obviously not able to tell it from any other sub-forum.

I'll have to make a pamphlet or something sooner or later.

To move my booze cabinet an inch closer to completion, I have carved myself a muddler based on a find from an iron age bog burial.
