Check it out, I was at the local the other night when someone offeres to buy me a pickle back. Im like what the fuck is a pickle back? She says its a shot of beam chased with a shot of pickle juice. You see the sodium of the pickle juice will keep you from having a hangover, and the pickle will nutruallize the taste of the whiskey. My reply is that I actually like the taste of beam, and dont need a chaser, but who the hell am i to turn down a free shot? I took the shot, and 6 or 7 more after that. I tried several variations, doing the pickle first and chasing with the beam, putting tobasco sause it the pickle (which was very good); all in all, this was an excellent combination.

I had one of those in belfast, wasn't hugely impressed, but if it convinces people to drink whiskey, or in my case tequila I suppose it must be a force for good. Fucking hipster bar though

Pickles are great when drinking. Haven't tried the pickle juice variation but it does sound nice. What I like to do is cut up some pickles and throw them in my Caesar or Bloody Mary. Pepperoni works awesome with this combo too.

I've seen it with shots of tequila. that being said, I haven't seen a bloody mary in WI w/out a pickle or pickle juice in it.

I tried these a few months ago. Not my favorite but not horrible. It made drinking the shitty corn whiskey bareable. Not sure about the hangover mitigation though.

I actually do like it when drinking rotgut, however I only have a small sip of the pickle juice. Can probably make 1 shot of pickle last through 5 shots of mcmasters or whatever is being bought.

I've had a drink called a Urine sample which is pickle juice and Tequila, throw a baby dill in there and it becomes a Pickled Punk.
