Lemon, Lime and Bitters (cordial), put it in a tumbler and add water, leaving ~2-3 inches at the top.
3.0oz of Tanqueray Gin, a few shakes of bitters, and a handful of icecubes, then a squirt of lime juice.
Stir aggressively for ~5 seconds, and give the ice a minute to start binding it all together.
I find it invigorating - Is my body lacking gin vitamins or something?

This sounds like a good drink for warm weather. The bitters add a dash of class and depth to flavor. The lemon and lime provide a nice sour as well as vitamin C. Have you thought of mixing it up in a pitcher? Easier to guzzle that way.

That's a good idea. It's still hot here, because mother nature doesn't seem to care about the whole 'autumn' thing.Badfellow wrote:This sounds like a good drink for warm weather. Be sure to explore the wide world of aromatic bitters with your g&t. I'm a huge fan of orange bitters with a juniper led gin, grapefruit bitters with a citrus heavy brand or something like Doctor Adam's dandelion & burdock bitters with a gin holding a very herbal profile

Everything else got me mixed results so far haha

Re: Gin + Lemon, Lime and Bitters
I have angostura plain and orange. I cant afford to spend too much on bitters - I need that money for beer and jim beam.
But, i have tasted some amazing things from my friends who get perfectionistic over their fancy cocktails and $10 drinks. Definitely explore the wide world of bitters if you can afford it, they bring a drink from acceptable to sexy.

The big IF in live is a big if. As you said, first buy the groundwork then get fancy in the shouldacouldawoulda game.Tarcek wrote:if you can afford it
One day I`ll be rich and probably still buy the cheapest stuff just by default

Re: Gin + Lemon, Lime and Bitters
in fairness,a $15 bottle of bitters will last a couple of hundred drinks. So it's not so bad in that respect. If you're a rum drinker for example,a bottle of chocolate bitters is a must have

Ah, but my glorious drunken friend! Value for money isn't the issue, but rather a lack of money.Gall4185 wrote:in fairness,a $15 bottle of bitters will last a couple of hundred drinks. If I limited my drinking to evenings at home,I'd be a hell of a lot richer. But sometimes the allure of a lte night bar after a long shift is just too hard to resist

why just today at noon, went into a dive in this strange upper state NY town that borders canadialand and took a place at the bar. Bunch of grey beards ribbing the bar maid. ordered shot and a cheap beer in a bottle. next thing you know, they sharing histories of the place with me.
That is the real facebookthing. No comparison, aint that right.
