Coconut Conundrum

Post by mmm...tasty »

One of the neighborhood brats had broken out one of my windows last fall and it was finally time to remove the cardboard and replace the glass. No such job can be attempted without a suitable libation to soothe the nerves and lubricate the tongue so the obscenities may roll off the tongue with a certain stuporous flair.

Upon opening the likker cabinet, a lone unwanted bottle of Bacardi COCOnut Rum stands vigil. WTF...... doesn't the house wench realize I have other needs beside the carnal ones to be slaked...... Desperate times require fortitude, so I dared a foray into unknown mixology.

2 oz Coconut Rum
1 oz Sour Mix
3oz Seven-up
Shaken with chipped ice and poured into a chilled glass

I had just re-watched Basic Instinct so the chipped ice thing does it for me right now. Anyhow......... the third one actually made it into the glass, the first two were mighty tasty straight from the shaker. The window will have to wait for another day, as there is more "research" to do on this coconut concoction.

Why didn't you just drink it neat from the bottle? Would have saved an awful lot of palaver and got the real job done (i.e. getting loaded) much more effeciently and quickly.

Speaking of Malibu...

Post by Grace O'Malley »

I bought some, not realizing how weak the alchohol content was.
21 %.
Please.
Anyway, I found some Pepsi Summer Mix here in Portland, regular Pepsi with fruit flavors. Available for a limited time.

I put a goodly slug of Malibu in, and it's pretty damn good!
Kinda froofy, like a tropical resort drink that is weak on the alcohol and makes you buy more.

I dub this the Sandals Swivel!

Hmmm. Malibu Rum, huh? I'm patently opposed to any drink that tastes like Coppertone™... but that's just me.

Yeah, well, it was an impulse purchase, having never drunk Malibu before.
I know better now.

Does it taste like Coppertone or just smell like it?
Cuz I like bitches slathered in Coppertone...

Come to think of it, I'd probably like the taste of them too.
You look like I need a drink.

as soon as i tried that summer mix pepsi, my first thought was that it would go really well with a decent pour of rum. yet to try that though.
