Big Baby is great. He's good inside when he starts throwing that weight around. He dunked the other night!

Lakers have lost 2 in a row (Miami, Orlando). That makes them 0-for-Florida.

Bummer.

Any New York Knickerbockers fans here? They're my Eastern team.

The Lakers are back to playing defense and have won 3 in a row. I sure hope they don't think they can turn it off and on whenever the mood strikes them.

Actually, the Lakers have the longest streak in the Big-4, pro-team sports: 33-games, during the 1971-72 season.

So there!

The Celts broke some damn NBA record. I think it was the best start ever.

I believe they broke their own FRANCHISE record for most consecutive wins with 19.

And 19 wins-in-a-row is not to be taken lightly. That means you're not only winning at home, but winning on the road -- with the NBA being considered the toughest "road win" of the Big-4 team sports.

I only hope the Lakers can develop the kind of consistency that the Celtics have shown since the beginning of last season.

Mike D'Antoni, to his former Phoenix point-guard, Steve Nash:

"Help, Mr. Wizard, help! I don't wanna coach the New York Knicks anymore!"

NYK's headed south in a hurry and the media & fans are on D'Antoni like German villagers on the Frankenstein monster.

And they think they're gonna lure Lebron there in a year-and-a-half?

Not with the way the Cavs are playing now. This year and next year the Cavs will be serious NBA title contenders. Why would he want to start over with the Knicks? And because of the NBA salary cap rules, the Cavs can offer him the most money, and he's a Northeast Ohio guy, just built a huge mansion there....meh, who am i kidding, he'll probably leave Cleveland but not for the Knicks.

The Lakers maybe, not the Knicks.

The way Knicks fans are talking around here you would think that he already signed a contract.
I'll miss you, pallie.

My take is, Lebron is TALKING about free agency and had been pimping NYK a bit (how much he likes the Garden, big Mets fan, etc), but I think that was just to make sure the Cleveland management knows it's gonna take a maximum effort to keep him. I don't see him leaving for the same reasons you point out, Sir John.

New Yorkers like to talk about NYC being "the media capital of the world", but whether they choose to admit it or not, that all ended with the growth of the internet -- presently the TRUE media capital of the world.

Isiah Thomas really left NYK in a hole.

I always thought that if the Nets moved to Brooklyn that they had a better shot at getting him than the Knicks. But that arena in Brooklyn is dead at this point.
I'll miss you, pallie.
