50 years, 2 World Series titles and a million jokes. Why, oh, why am I a Mets fan? Oh, right, I was 5 and liked the name Mookie.
I'll miss you, pallie.

Re: 2012 MLB season
Magic Johnson's bidding group just paid TWO BILLION DOLLARS for the Dodgers (twice what the team's worth) and Frank McCourt still gets half of the parking concession!
Get ready for record price-hikes across the board, Dodger fans...and don't forget to tip Smiling Frank for parking your cars.

Re: 2012 MLB season
I'm still not clear what the parking situation is. I've read some articles that say McCourt retained control of them entirely, I've heard it was 50/50, I've heard 70/30, and I've heard he owns them on non game days. I would hope that his mismanagement is no longer involved in the parking lots at all. He ran them like a prison yard, except for the part where there are guards watching.

I heard he's still the owner of everything outside of the stadium. Until his wife sues him for that too.

Re: 2012 MLB season
I believe(?) McCourt (or rather one of his shell companies) owns the parking lot land but that future revenue will be split 50/50 from the parking concession. There is also the matter of some land surrounding Dodger Stadium. I'm not sure if McCourt currently owns any of it outright but he may have a financial interest in some of it, possibly with a purchase option.Chimneyfish wrote:I'm still not clear what the parking situation is. The potential revenue from the impending TV deal is said to be huge, but it's not paid out in a lump sum and it will take a long time to recoup the purchase price through that stream. The general consensus is $1.2 to $1.4bil -- tops -- would've won the the bidding and most of the media commentators and their "financial experts" seem to feel the Magic Group drastically overpaid.

Frank McCourt is walking proof that God has mercy on idiots and fools.
Two BILLION dollars? For a team that was going down like a twenty dollar whore during fleet week?
Wow.
