As relatively mistake-free as the 49ers played all season, that was a brutal way to miss out on a Super Bowl trip.

Who would have thought that their season would come down to Ted Ginn Jr. being out of a game.

Not very often do I feel sorry for a pro athlete, but geez...you gotta feel Kyle Williams' pain right now.

Stupid Kyle Williams. I called it, too. I said 1/2 way through the 1st that it was going to be up to him whether or not we won. I want him cut from our team. Unacceptable.

Well by holding the ball way out in front of himself like that in such a critical situation instead of tucking it is like spitting on Bill Walsh and Joe Montana's graves. Not to mention his inexplainable muffed punt earlier in the game.

This is the best field goal kicking team in the history of the NFL and their season came down to being just one sudden-death field goal away from the Super Bowl, which they never got to take. Williams' mistakes directly gave up 10 points in a 20-17 game.

CF...all joking aside... for a team which was the class of the league in solid, heads-up, error-free play during the regular season, it was epically tragic.
