Just saw a tech bit on a repeat of the Arizona Nationals.
The big V8 big supercharger in Corvettes and Camaros for the production engine has about 9 lbs. of boost to the engine helping to create 600 or so horses.
The supercharger in a Funny Car has about 63 lbs of boost to help those fire breathers to hit 10,000 horses.
Holy fuck. This shit is insane.

That 10,000 horsepower? It's an estimate. The damn things don't live long enough to be properly dyno'd.

Still, I'd be a lot more interested in drag racing if they had to slow down at the end of a quarter mile, turn around, and then RACE BACK.
