I made Grumpy birthday lasagna last night. Now he is in the bedroom b&f garlic and sausage and snoring like he was paid by the decibel to do it, so I have escaped for a quiet prosecco. Our youngest daughter came over with the little princess and little prince and a bottle of Basil Hayden's bourbon.

Tonight we feast on yesterday's cornbread and soup beans. Topped with raw onion and sliced hot cherry peppers and slathered with Frank's Red Hot. Tommorrow everyone gets crop dusted. Everyone!

You are another victim of Italian food. You have to go slow and not overeat. The pasta hits your stomach and then it must expand to be digested. God forbid you overdose on ricotta/sausage and parsely ravioli. Those are lethal depth charge packets going into your stomach to explode.

Nothing like k-bobs of thick chunks of free range organically grown chicken breast in some kind of Sicilian marinade charbroiled to perfection. Veggies on the skewer, red/green bell peppers, red onions and a pile of preservative free coleslaw finished the plate.
Found myself in the Matrix and took the red pill. Now I want the blue pill and my bottle and leave me alone.

How is the weinerschnitzel these days? God forbid they have defiled that tasty dish. It's a steak lover's dream breaded and fried crisp. Americans call their version, chicken fried steak.

Frying up some sausage at the moment. Gravy and biscuits will soon follow. Nothing like a hearty breakfast to fortify yourself for a day of rest and drinking.

2nd day of beef boug burgundy beef.
Anyway the wine was good too.
AB's recipe is really good but you gotta watch out. those old carrots can turn sweet on you. have to add more salt. and then oops too much salt. just a bit.

I will tell you what I would like to eat right now but is too rich in calories and clogs me up if you know what I mean.
Angel hair pasta with Reese quartered artichoke hearts and pesto sauce.
Open your can of Reese quartered artichoke hearts and drain the water. Place 6-8 pieces in the bottom of a colander. Boil up a pot of water then drop your pasta. After 4min. in boiling water dump it into the colander and drain the water rinsing the artichokes. Dump this on a plate and place a large tablespoon of pesto sauce on top and toss. It's better than sex!

I'll tell you something else relating to artichokes and almost better than sex are deep fried artichoke hearts. I had them as an appetizer in a restaurant once and my gawd they were mind blowing. Especially with the aioli to dip it in. Definitely worth a try if y'all ever see it on a menu.

I wish I was eating that now but we had a magnificent brunch with biskies, gravy, and sausage - all home made, with fried eggs and Heinz baked beans. I needed a nap afterwards.
