Drunkover Dining

Post by Dirty Lou »

Okay, we can have a "What's in your fridge?" lame Food Network talk, or we can talk about the reality of the drunken diet. I am talking about the culinary masterpiece that has been created with whatever your wet brain has concocted while gazing blankly into the fridge or cupboard. Those times when you can imagine yourself in full chef attire standing in the Iron Chef stadium. Chef hat. Chef jacket. Chef shoes. The whole enchilada yo.

This morning I shuffled into the kitchen and dished up the following.

A pile of garden salsa Sun Chips
A healthy dose of grated Colby Jack cheese
A chopped up slice of bologna
microwave for 30 seconds
Breakfast has never been this good.

Typical favorites -
Peanut butter & Jelly waffle sandwich for the drunkover breakfast
Mustard and BBQ sauce dressing with any deli meat in a sammich
F-ing leftover 'tater salad with a side of pickles from anywhere. I love that chit.

As a bridge from day drinking to happy hour, I find this snack does a body good:

Half bag or so of Cheetos (crunchy, not the really puffed-up turds)
1/4 cup-ish of Peanut Butter for dipping
Pint of milk for washing down

Dip the cheetos into the peanut butter, and wash it down with the milk. The carbs, protein and fat will give you the energy necessary to tackle the rest of the drinking day and it's damn tasty to boot. Additionally, the milk will strengthen your bones, allowing you to take those drunken tumbles with ease.

i was with you lou, up til the chopped bologna. although, fried bologna is pretty good, with eggs. my "go to" meal these days is french fries with gravy, or cheese. i mean, twice fried real potatoes, earth apples as they are called - pommes frittes, or sun'thin, right boozy? and i agree with jiggers that the best cheetos are those hard funny shaped ones, not the puffy ones. peanut butter as dipping sauce? i will have to try.

I tend to mix whatever random shit's in my fridge/pantry. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't:

Sriracha pepper sauce + garlic hummus = Rad deliciousness.

Sriracha pepper sauce + blueberry muffin = Foul beast of a culinary creation

Pretty much any meat or cheese I happen to have on hand.

Hot sauce, wing sauce, barbeque sauce, or mayonnaise thrown in for good measure.

Same here. In fact just this morning I found myself dipping processed turkey lunch meat into a jar of Tostitos cheese dip that I bought at Speedway last night.

Il'll grant you celery, but do not even mention pickle, or pickle relish. And Beast is my firstborn. I am Savage.
