Coffee and liquor
I love my liquors neat or with a little ice, the problem comes when I want to mix my liquor of choice with coffee(no sugar, just a little milk). For some reason it dosnt taste all that good. Is it just me or does coffee have a bad effect on spirits? What high proof liquor goes well with coffee? Its got to be something I can drink all day, as I am hoping that the coffee will better hide the scent off my breath. Most people where I work drink coffee all day, so I wont stick out at all.

I really like coffee with baileys or amaretto. But I think you can really smell those pretty good. Especially amaretto.~3L M3R0 CH1NG0N~ wrote:I love my liquors neat or with a little ice, the problem comes when I want to mix my liquor of choice with coffee(no sugar, just a little milk). Downside,... those two are lightweight choices if it comes to drunkenness and heavyweight choices when it comes to weightgaining.
AA didn't work out for me,... so here I am.

Re: Coffee and liquor
I really think boozing at work is best limited to vodka, due to the smell factor. You could pour it in a water bottle and nobody should suspect, right?
Of course, I have never been a work boozer so I'm sure someone else can weigh in with more solid advice than me. Where's Shmoo? He used to be the professional work boozer . . .

I believe that Shmoo was a Vodka-at-work drinker.Mother Goose wrote:I really think boozing at work is best limited to vodka, due to the smell factor. You could pour it in a water bottle and nobody should suspect, right?

I never had the opportunity myself to be a work-boozer, but I have had my laundromat tonic of 25% Gatorade and 75% Monopolowa.
Drink your fucking drink, how about that? Stop the fuckin' presses, isn't it genius??

You can't fall off the floor, but melting into it is doable.

Re: Coffee and liquor
coffee is a good masker of breath, sure. For pragmatic reasons, just keep a water bottle of vodka(dilute if neccesary). No one questions a water bottle or coffee, normally. A safer bet

Re: Coffee and liquor
I love an Irish coffee because it contains all the essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and fat. Here is how to make a perfect one. Substitute bourbon for the Irish whiskey for a Kentucky coffee.
If you're just concerned with your breath then go with peppermint or spearmint schnapps.

My recipe for Irish Coffee is a little different:
heat in a pan on the stove whiskey and disolve into it brown sugar to taste, then pour it into your heated glass.
add coffee and a little milk
wip up your own wip cream with sugar or powder sugar to taste,(do not use the kind already whipped.)
then pour over coffee with a spoon.
enjoy

Re: Coffee and liquor
I personally never mix spirits with coffee, but I am a big fan of an Irish coffee - normally Baileys or Tia Maria - the perfect after dinner coffee :-)

Re: Coffee and liquor
Make a coffee-vodka infusion. I mixed a 1/4 cup of coffee beans and a cinnamon stick with a fifth of vodka. Shake every day and strain after about a week. Let it age for a month and you have a damn tasty drink.

Re: Coffee and liquor
Manly though it ain't, swing by a coffee shop on the way to work and order up a cappuccino, extra foamy. With the lid, scoop out all the foam and replace with equal parts vodka. Add a pack or two of sugar for its rejuvenating properties. It helps keep the bloodshot eyes clear and open.

I dunno about that. If I started showing up to work without blood shot eyes then they might not recognize me.

I second that. Drink Ice 101 and they'll just think you had a mint or something.Chimneyfish wrote:If you're just concerned with your breath then go with peppermint or spearmint schnapps.
I actually think whiskey goes well with coffee, though.
