Yes.

I have had exactly two shots of authentic Russian Vodka. I'm not sure I could pronounce the names, even if I could remember them. Neither one tasted anything like anything I have learned to call "vodka".

Stoli came kinda close. Only kinda.

Every other vodka I've ever had, it's all the same flavor, just a question of smoothness. Mr. Liver likes Ketel One, when he's in the mood.

This is great bang for the buck, if you can find it:

The Polish potato vodkas are grand, I just can't spell their names.

Smirnoff Blue/Red label and Finlandia. Blue label is stronger if my memory serves me correct. How about Koskenkorva Vodka?

*Luksosowa: good Polish potato vodka at a decent price.

*Moskovskaya: Russian "Stoli green label" vodka from SPI. Not made from corn. Drinkable. Affordable. Try it.

*Svedka: similar to Absolut, but cheaper and without that oily, flat mechanical taste.

Avoid Phillips, Silver Wolf, Kamchatka, or anything else that is known to cause blindness and anal bleeding. Ultimately, you're going to get what you pay for, but that doesn't mean you have to over-pay either.

Monopolwa. It's a tasty potato vodka that manages to run in the same price range as Smirnoff.

I'll have a handle of that blindness and anal bleeding Vodka please. I could use a few days off, and I can deal with lack of sight and/or clean pants.

I'm torn when it comes to vodka. I don't drink it straight (I HAVE sampled straight, highly recommended imports from many countries, but voddy shots just aren't my thing).

I like Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers, but if they're properly made I can't really tell one vodka from another.

I guess It just doesn't matter so much if you don't drink vodka straight.

Rain is good, but pricey.

Sobieski is an impressive vodka for the price. I keep a handle in the freezer... in a Gordon's bottle- the square shape keeps it from leaping to its doom.
