Your Booze Review: Smith & Cross

Post by Badfellow »

It's a plantation rum from Jamaica that goes exceptionally well with bacon & eggs. Dark, sweet and stinky in all the right places with a nice molasses finish. The best way to drink it is from a snifter so that the spirits fully concentrate to flood your nose with booze perfume. Butterscotch, caramel and earthy island funk are abound. Thank you, Bacchus! Dare I say, do I like it better than Pusser's Navy Rum?

If you're feeling audacious, you could mix yourself a daiquiri with a good light rum (Niesson, Pritchard's or even Wray & Nephew) to balance out the equation. But really, you're cheating yourself if you don't drink it neat.

Rum? Yum!

What booze DOESN'T go well with bacon & eggs?

In theory Malort, and possibly Hot 100 Cinnamon Schnapps.

Cinnamon Schnapps goes well with OJ so it would be a viable breakfast drink.

Also David Wondrich tweeted about Smith and Cross today. Is Badfellow David Wondrich's alter ego? I've never seen them in the same room together.
