Gentlemen... tonight has been a harsh session.
I've finally decided to join this forum after a night of rioja and absinthe... it wasn't the good absinthe mind, just the cheap shit. Does the job though. ;) The rioja on the other hand was fine enough to drink by the pint... recommended.
Anyway I came here with a dull burn in my chest wondering what the f*** this was all about... I mean is this the place to talk the talk or to walk the walk?
I've been ejected from a couple of places tonight based on my innebriation. First was the local boozer because I called the landlord a fat c*** (he is, and very sensitive about it). The second was taxi rank because I drank a bottle of wine waiting for a ride home...
I finally made it home and continued with the special sauce... who doesn't? If you can't drink in the privacy of your own home then what can you do? I decided to sit up and eventually found this forum... I joined up and here I am...
I'd just like to say hello to all and I hope all is well... If anyone would like to share a glass I'll be around for a while. You'll have to bring some with you though I'm a bit short...
WTF?

And afterwords we can run amok! Or if you're too tired, we can walk amok.

welcome aboard.
Don't be an ass, and all drunks are welcome here.
Some may only be weekend drunks, some are full fledged 'haven't had a undrunk night in 10yrs drunks'
Frequency and quantity matters not, it's the attitude about it. We are here for the love of booze. Be it mixology or trips to blackout island, or a mix thereof.
I don't know how mcuh sense this will make, so just pour me some old crow in a glass and I'll shut up.

Rioja again tonight gentlemen (and lady if my eyes aren't playing tricks on me)
I sat alone in the local bar this afternoon... nice place (I'll take photos next time I remember) excellent choice of beers and wines...
I took my usual seat at the usual end of the bar... had my usual Glenmorangie and Guiness opener and made the usual small talk with the staff... (Hiya Claymore! How's your week been?... Nothing a year in Fiji wouldn't cure.... etc etc)
First one went down smoooooooth! It was one of those Saturdays when you think "Shit! This is gonna be good!" A couple of people made attempts at conversation but as the afternoon mellowed into the evening it was nothing more than casual nods.
Then the Rioja... I love this wine... Never been a wine drinker until I found this ambrosia. I asked for a bottle... being the creature of habit that I am they'd already prepared my usual order after the second Guinness.
The first large glass was like meeting an old friend. The warmth as I sat next to the fire... I could feel the ambient noise fade away. The traffic from the door outside went from a dull roar to a mere rumble. Audible conversation turned to background static as my old friend made her presence felt. Happy days again as the pulse returned.
One glass went into another... then another and then my bubble was burst when the taxi arrived.
Life is arranged into small pockets... this was one of the fuller, richer ones.
