...hours drinking that is. I once stayed in a bar called Cullen's in the Bronx and drank for 24 hours straight. I got there at about 6pm on a Friday night and Cullen's stays "open" all night on Fridays. I remember at 4am when they locked the doors and pulled the shades down and I thought, "OK, a few more and I'm going." Then I got to talking with a girl and we chatted until about 8am when the new bartender came in. I sort of remember talking to him for awhile and then there was Mets game on at 1pm. I again had a conversation with myself, "Look, you gotta get home." "All right, right after the game." Well, the next thing I recall was looking at the clock and it was 5pm. At that point I had to stay for another hour, right? When I woke up on the couch in the backroom of the bar it was around midnight. Joe the bartender told me that at 6pm I had thrown my hands in the air and started to do victory laps around the bar and then I ran in the back and never came out. He went to check on me and said I was on the couch snoring. God, that place used to be great.
I'll miss you, pallie.

I believe waking up in a bar is one of the 50 things a drunk has to do before he or she dies.

Everytime i fall asleep in a bar (usually on those damned comfy sofa's you get in non-dives, which are lacking round here...dives that is) I have a WWE training wrestler bodyslam me out the door...which is rude frankly

Please excuse the technical questions. What were you drinking during this time? How did you space the drinks out? Personally I have reached the near 24 hour mark on a few occasions and recall a feeling of almost euphoria at some point. It was definitely beyond being proud of how long I had been drinking or anything like that.

No problem. I was drinking 12oz Budweiser bottles. As far as spacing them out, I'm not sure. I usually start out at one every 8 to 12 minutes but I tend to slow down a little and start doing shots. As far as the feeling of euphoria, I felt at one point that I had drank myself undrunk somehow. And the cost of my marathon was about $275 but that included buying a lot of rounds for the bar.

On a side note, I miss that time of my life and I miss the person I was then.

I did this a couple of years ago, only it wasn't in a bar (it was a 3 day long superbowl party), and I had the aid of a substance that helped me stay awake. Started at 9AM Sunday, 10AM Monday found 4 of us still awake, drinking straight from a mason jar of moonshine.

The flight home that afternoon was one of the least fun experiences of my life.
