Drunken Brother

Post by drunkenmaster »

My brother has not yet fallen, but he's falling, he used to booze a lot, more than I used to, and it's affecting his drunken body(health) and mind. He gotta say good bye for being a boozer. And I think we need to have cheers for him. Cheers for my brother, for his recovery. Cheers!!

hi just a little update. We managed to convinced my brother to admit himself into a rehab, but we did not know yet if going to rehab will really work. So just a little suggestion guys. Do you think this will be a good idea? personally, i don't have the slightest clue. currently i'm browsing websites that pertaining to recovery, or steps to recovery, such as this one i am currently reading now Addiction Recovery Centers in Arlington Texas. Ugh, raising a brother is such a pain in the ass haha! anyway, looking forward to your suggestions.

Hi, it seems we got another lost soul in the endless ocean of booze. Rehab - maybe it is different from place to place, but mostly is doesn't help. Somehow they managed to get the the process backwards. They don't teach moderation - they teach abstinence. Did i say teach? "Preach" would be better suited term here. AA groups? Gimme a brake. As useful as cock flavoured lollypop. Temporary abstinence, reduced alcohol consumption and support from friends and family. Having a job would be nice. Filling those time gaps when he usually drinks. Change one addiction with another - eating more suggar, jerking off, boob watching - anything that works for him...

I did that in 1990 and it lasted for four years.

I'll never do that again. I can remember everything.

Let us never speak of such a thing again.

This.
My gf is a full blown alcoholic, as she can`t stop when once started. It`s both her weak mind and weak body causing havoc.
I buy her new beer instead and will never ever make her go through that horrible experience that was a rehab center again (mind you that was before my "stint" with her but I`ve known her for a long time).

Hollywood celebrities have access to the most expensive, comprehensive rehab programs on the planet. Take a look at that effectiveness rate...

Riiiiight.

In all seriousness though, it is the abstinence thing where they go wrong. Prohibition doesn't work and never will.

Your brother is lucky to have you as his Guardian Angel on earth. Stay strong for him. Good luck and God Bless.

man, the word rehab makes me cringe. i here it does help some people sometimes when they are actually in the mindset that they don't want to get drunk. i've met people that have gone to rehab 7 times or so, and they weren't to well off still. i think support from family is more useful. really it just depends on how he feels, and what he decides, once rehab is done.
