I go in there every time in there. She asked when she'd seen me last and I told her August 2018. she said "that's right the big Modern Drunkard group."Nausea wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 3:23 pmReally? Frankie's used to sponsor the MDM conventions, and she's a fan.

Re: Drunk Travel Log
Here we go again.
About a month ago, My buddy Travis and I started planning a trip to Las Vegas. All the bars were shut down, but we decided to roll the dice. We called the Flamingo to book rooms and found that they were no charge. Shit, they are desperate for visitors.
As of the beginning of last week, the bars hadn't opened yet. We contemplated postponing the trip.
And then, on Friday, an announcement was made that Las Vegas bars would open on Monday of this week. The stars realigned.
So here we are. It's Thursday and we will be heading to the happiest place on earth for a long weekend of drinking in real live bars. Sorry for all future posts. They will be sponsored by BOOZE.

We made the trip to Vegas in record time. It's usually a six hour drive. We made it in just over five.
First stop was Atomic Liquors. It was the first time at that bar for both of us, but it immediately made it to our list of favorites. The bartender was very good and the drinks were perfect. Well, I think they were perfect. It's really hard to tell. Prohibition just ended and this was our first time in a bar for a very long time. Anything could have happened and we would have enjoyed it.

Atomic Liquors sounds more like a liquor store than a bar.

Aww, man, the bar. We're slowly re-opening here, with all this weird spacing shit and masks with straw holes. I want my shot like a man takes a shot. Half in the mouth and the rest in the nose, beard, and all down the hair on the sides of my head.Dear Booze wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 1:00 pmWe made the trip to Vegas in record time. It's day 3 and the bender continues. Piecing yesterday together is difficult. Good thing I have pictures, twitter, and Lyft receipts on my phone. Without them I wouldn't remember shit.
We hit the Double Down Saloon at about noon. We drank several Rum and Cokes, a shot of Ass Juice, and two beers.
Starboard Tack was next. Funky little neighborhood bar with, for some reason, chinese food. More rum. A lot more.
Back to Frankie's Tiki Room. More rum and a healthy helping of Morkkis.
The last bar was Velvetine Rabbit. Aside from a vague recollection of the freshly painted concrete floor, I don't remember being there. Travis told me we had more rum. He also informed me that I began spitting water at him. Very odd and totally out of normal character for me.
When I woke up, there was a big bottle of water on the nightstand. I guess I stopped and purchased it somewhere. I have no recollection of that happening.

It seems everyone has to wear a mask indoors when you're not throwing back booze. The only problem is the staff especially the gogo dancers. Gogo dancers with masks on don't do it for me. Sorry to say.
Found myself in the Matrix and took the red pill. Now I want the blue pill and my bottle and leave me alone.

Re: Drunk Travel Log
Day 3 of the Las Vegas bender continued.
After a good meal of Korean BBQ, we set out to discover some new bars. The Mint was first on our list. Located in a little strip mall, just west of the Las Vegas Boulevard Strip, this little bar was a true gem.
It's an classy, old school lounge that caters to locals. We stayed there for about five and a half hours.
The next stop was The Tap Room. It's a weird little Italian Restaurant with a tiny bar. It wasn't very fun, so we left after about an hour.
We then hit one of the shittiest dives I've ever been to. The Charlston is located in a pretty stabby neighborhood. The interior is not much better. It's a big square room with yard sale furniture, a filthy bar, a beat up shuffleboard table and a variety of low level pimps and drug dealers hanging around. But the drinks were very cheap and strong. We stayed there for three or four hours.
At the end of the night we headed back to the Flamingo for some unlucky card games and complimentary drinks.
