Anyway, what you need to understand about a smoking ban is that it is simply part of government establishing the fact that it knows what is best for you, and that it will use the force of law (legal violence) to force you to agree.

If you don't like this, you need to tell your local politicians, and understand the fact that whether its practical or not, you are a Libertarian. Anyway, I want another beer, and that's still not regulated by my government, so shove off...

No, I'm not a Libertarian. I'm a Republican. I want as little government interference with my life, and my tax dollars. But thanks for thinking I was one of you. Libertarian is just Republican Lite anyway, isn't it? ;)

Invest money in spittoons; they are bound to make a comeback now that snuff and chaw are the legal way to ingest nictotine with ones bar bought booze.

The smoking "ban" that they passed here is so rediculously full of loopholes nad most of those loopeholes had to do with alcohol. Basically, it just banned smoking in every place but bars.

Well, Kentucky has always been one of the more sensible states, in that respect.

I've decided that when I have to go outdoors to smoke a butt, I'll comply to an extent. But what I smoke will NOT be tobacco. If there's 25 people outside the bar puffing away, who's gonna notice that one of the people is smoking a joint?

we can still smoke in 18 plus establishments, I almost didn't care about the fern bars and resturants, but when they took smoking away from the wafflehouse I almost cried.

Every year for the past 4 Nevada, and Las Vegas has been pushing for no smoking in public areas. It's proposterous to say the least. If I'm down $250 on the blackjack table (which happens frequently) and am trying to enjoy my cocktail, the last thing *I* want is to be told I CAN'T smoke.

It's bad enough almost all the poker rooms in Las Vegas are smoke free now. I think there are a select few rooms left where you can smoke, but they are local dirty casinos mostly.

anyway, my two cents

Now that's just fucking cruel. I don't smoke, but it's just not Waffle House if it doesn't smell like grease and smoke!

Today is day 6 of the smoking ban in NJ. Luckily, it hasn't been cold or hasn't rained yet. But I must comment, it's far more attractive for any business to have people hanging outside their establishment puffing away. That's an establishment I want to enter <roll eyes>.

In California, in the bigger cities (SF, LA, SD....) 85-90% of the bars tend to comply with the smonking ban. As you get further away those numbers drops. I've read that in several cities in the South Bay compliance is as low as 55-60%.
once AGAIN we were in the south bay with nick plumber and co. with his friend smoking freely in a bar without reprimand. do they just not give a fuck in those parts? to hell with korea town, i need to get an apt out there.
