Bar Map for Drunkards!

Post by Rooster »

You know, it really slays me how much I do for you Drunkards! First the Avatar post, and now this! I've spent all morning compiling a map of Irish Pubs in Florida. It is by no means complete, and I have only had drinks at three of them so I cannot endorse any bar over another. However! If you want to message me on here with YOUR drinking recommendations, then I'll add it in the comments. Also, if you know of any other Irish Restaraunts/bars you'd like to see on here, let me know! I'll keep it up to date as I go, though the ol' internet connection will be touch and go until I get into an apartment.

If you benefit from this, you owe me a round!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!
The link will be the same, but now there will be a map overlay for bars that show up in here. If you plan on posting a recommendation for a bar, please copy me the info (address is helpful) as well as a pithy one or two sentence review. You'll be credited, and eventually I'd like to make this a searchable Map Overlay for all Google users. Cheers!

SECOND UPDATE!
In the spirit of spirits, I'll also add any international bars anyone posts about. I will need the full address and name though, as I'm somewhat limited by Google's search capabilities. It'd be nice to build a database for Drunkards round the world, as some of us do a fair bit of traveling.

FUCKSAKES UPDATE!
After 6 updates, I finally got the Drunkard-recommended map to come up instead of my Florida map. I lose at teh intrewebz.

There is a bar in Ft. Myers Beach, just over the bridge on Estero Blvd. called Dusseldorf on the Beach that is or was very cool. Great beer and food.

Three more for the master map.

Eidelweiss German Restaurant

S6844 Terhune St.
DeSoto, WI 54624
(608) 648-3472

comments: a cozy little place overlooking the Mississippi River, you'll be assured cheap German taps and a fantastic schitzelburger.

Blue Bricks Bar

424 S Front St.
Mankato, MN 56001
(507) 386-1700

comments: popular bar, roughly along the theme of a blues establishment, at the head of the "Front Street Gauntlet". Several large couches and a good selection of liquor make it a comfortable place to sit back and get shit-faced. Within easy walking distance of Oggar, the city's most famous drunkard.

Cottonwood Cafe

222 Berkley St.
Boston, MA 02116
(617) 274-2225

comments: bar and restaurant near Copley Square. Southwestern themed with a decent menu. The tequila selection will take half the night to get through and the margaritas are made to exacting standards. Good service, but be prepared to put up with yuppie dickheads.

Damon's Steak House
317 N Brand Blvd
Glendale, CA 91203
(818) 507-1510

Decent Singapore Sling, ask for it dry. Mai Tai's are so-so, but strong. They have Sailor Jerry. Bar staff is cool. Beef is excellent.

Red Lion Tavern
2366 Glendale Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90039
(323) 662-5337
http://www.redliontavern.net/

Good German gasthaus food, great German beer on tap. lousy crowd of hipsters and hipster waitresses at night; drink in the middle bar after 6 pm.

The Roost
3100 Los Feliz Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90039
(323) 664-7272

Super cheap, red naugahyde booths, free popcorn

King Edward Saloon
131 E 5th St, Los Angeles
(213) 629-2023

A dive to define dives by. My regular during the school year. Best juke in LA.

The Colorado Bar
2640 E Colorado Blvd
Pasadena, CA 91107-3726
Phone: (626) 449-3485

A nicer dive with pool, decent juke, pool tables. Men's crapper doesn't have a door on it.

Tiki Ti
4427 W Sunset Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90027
(323) 669-9381
http://www.tiki-ti.com/

Amazing drink, tiny and over crowded, odd hours. Definately worth the inconvenience.

Take a gander at this place as well:

Bull McCabe's

New York, NY 10003

Good Irish pub. Can get really busy on weekends, but the staff'll take care of you if they get to know you.

Ugly Oyster Drafthaus
21 South 5th Street
Reading, PA 19601
Very cool Irish bar, in the middle of a very...eclectic...little city in PA.

A couple more I am too lazy to find addresses for:
Firewaters
Inside the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, NJ
50 beers on tap, 100 different bottled beers. Would be heaven if I didn't have to go to AC for it...

The Irish Pub
St. James Place, Atlantic City NJ
My goodness, my Guinness...

Tun Tavern
Atlantic City NJ
craft beers, good food, and lots of convention-goers. Awesome place to hang out during the teachers convention...

The Clubhouse
1500 New Holland Rd
Reading, PA 19607
a great dive bar. Located underneath a pizza parlor. Low ceilings, smoky as hell. Good live music occassionally. A cross between a blue collar locals bar and a college bar. Pool table, bubble hockey, darts, cheap beer. Fuck, I miss that place.

Okay, if we are doing locals for the google map (and since I have no idea how to add things directly to the map)...

All in Louisville, KY.

Magnolia Bar & Grill
1398 South 2nd Street
(The grill part hasn't been operational in ages, but the Old Louisville historical nabobs won't let them change the name, or something.)

Cahoots
1047 Bardstown Road

Flanagan's Ale House
934 Baxter Avenue
(One of the best beer lists in Louisville.)

The Barrett Bar
1012 Barrett Avenue
(A serious pool hall with full service bar.)

I made all of the additions up through this post. However the Barrett Bar isn't coming up.

Raven Grill

3145 Mount Pleasant St.
Washington, DC

Comments: Just a bar. No food, no pool table, no credit cards. A true neighborhood place for a neighborhood made up of equal parts young professionals, lifelong DC residents, recent immigrants from just about every country in the world, white, black, Asian, etc.

Brickskellar
1523 22nd St, NW
Washington, DC

Comments: More than 1000 differet beers available every night. Try the Estonia porter named Saku.

Seaside Raw Bar
2014 Atlantic Ave
Virginia Beach, VA

Comments: Decent seafood, but what makes it great is that the bar is one of the very few true oceanfront hangouts for local drunkards
If I had a nickel for every time I drank too much, I'd buy another case.

good beer selection, decent food, beer garden out back for the smokers. I think I just talked myself into going there tonight...

Updated!

I also added the bars there were PM'd to me.

As I said before, I'd like it to be an international, so if anyone has a favorite joint that comes up in Google Maps, send me the info and I'll add it.
