The 2008 Convention was a hoot. Greygoose and I meeting for the first time in front of the hotel. I didnt have an idea what he look like and he of me. I thought "Holy Shit! A Psycopath!" He looked at me like "Motherfucking Hippie!". Then when we both realized we both had the MDM classic t-shirt on, we hugged like long lost brothers.
Don't remember much more because I was Drinking.

If it was on this side of the 100th meridian I could volunteer a couple of standing connections to decent quality hotel or two that can get prices knocked down, potentially slag a certain well known booze-centric band for entertainment (not cheep, but at the "buddy" rate), not to mention I did a stint as a fire-eater (if entertainment is really an issue.)
As a side note; Why not invite some of the distillers and bottling companies to do show-and-tells? About two months ago my local had a gentlemen in from maker mark for a "whiskey tasting", which translated to six shots of various products of theirs and two hours of story time about the history, manufacturing and various other statistics of kentucky boooourn-bon for ten bucks. Seriously a good show for the money.
Put nine of those guys up on the dais (and the good folks from gatoraide doing the same the next morning) and I think we'd all do quite nicely.

I checked out roundtrip flights from Winnipeg to Denver, CO. In August, it would be roughly $600 round trip.
