Shamrock Fest 2014 in Washington, D.C.

Post by Patchez » Sat Jan 11, 2014 6:16 am

The unofficial Lower Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the MDEC is starting to plan this little trip. I went two years ago and had a blast I paid the $80 bucks for the VIP ticket cause let's face it.. in an 8 or 10 hour day I can easily drink over $100 bucks worth of festival priced Guinness. That being said anyone from the PA, DE, MD, VA or NJ areas or even further out wanna go post up.

Those of us north are planning to hit the northern most commuter train stop up in Silver Spring. It's about a hour and a half train ride to the subway stop right under RFK so we have time to undrunk up enough for the drive home or the drive to a local hotel. For that matter we can grab the hotel before heading down and cab it to the train station.

These are all details still to be worked out.

There have been some changes since my last trip... they shaved four hours off the free beer time for the VIP tickets...
The year I went it was from 1 pm till 10 pm. This year it's 3pm till 8 pm with the pay beer tents stayin open till 10. Get ya drunk then rape you for the last two to stay that way.

General consensus amongst the few who were planning to go... fuck 'em. Beer, Bourbon and BarBQ fest may be a better deal... VIP there hints at Pappy Van Winkle samples!

I do hate to say, I told you so...

Damn Palinka, with your blurred view you really seem to see everything, I`m impressed. I will entrench with booze now and not leave the house anymore, scared to death that I am.

You might as well join me in the drunk-trench one day

Yes O Soused Sage. You did indeed call it and I heeded not thine words of wisdom. Only upon further reflection by some of the other LSVMDEC folk over a pint or two were we able to comprehend your meaning. That and after checking out the page again did we start doing the math.
