If memory serves me right, I recall a beautiful 50's era neon sign reading Bill's Alcoholic Abuse Center at the old Tuman's Tavern while vacationing in Chicago circa 1998. Can anyone verify this, or is my memory shot? I bought a round of "Old Style" for 10 friends and I believe that grand total was $7!!!
Research indicates that the tavern reopened in a more gentrified way. This is apparently a new interior sign.

The one that reads "You don't have to be mad to work here but it helps!" is usually a good indicator of a joyless environment.

I saw a reproduction of that one in an antique/junk store. They also had two others.General E. Decaying wrote:"Beware: Pickpockets and Loose Women"

I bought the second one for my bookie friend who owns a bar.

Sadly this sign is in every TGI Fridays. They must be desperate to get people to come back.happyhauntingdrunk wrote:Free Beer Tomorrow

OK, I'll bite. I know I've seen this before but can't remember what it stands for, dammit.Barca wrote:One of my favorites:

At an outdoor bar in St. Maarten, there was a sign on the wall that read "you can't drink the hole (sic) damn day if you don't start in the morning." So that's exactly what we did.
