The Drunken Poem

Post by loves2eatpie »

 The Druken Poem :x

Starkle, starkle, little twink,
Who the hell are you I think.
I'm not under what you call
The alcofluence of incohol.
I'm just a little slort of sheep,
I'm not drunk like thinkle peep.
I don't know who is me yet,
But the drunker I stand here the longer I get.
So just give me one more fink to drill my cup,
'Cause I got all day undrunk to Sunday up.

Bar Poem

Post by Uncle Gary »

Some Guinness was spilt on the barroom floor
When the pub was closed for the night
Out of his hole crept a wee brown mouse
and stood in the pale moonlight.
He lapped up the frothy foam from the floor
then back on his haunches he sat.
All night long you could hear him roar,
"Bring on the goddamn cat!"

the one thing i can do is drink
i can out drink my old man
my mother doesn’t stand a chance
the boys at the bar are scared when i come in
especially when i am in one of my moods
they know somebody’s gonna end up under the table
and it sure as shit
ain’t gonna be me
the cops are old buddies of mine
they give me ride home
at least twice a week when i don’t feel like walking
last week i busted a guy’s head cause he said something that i didn’t understand
jimmy warned him not to use literary allusions
but he kept it up so i punched him the jaw
he went down and i don’t know if he’s got up yet
i can drink and everyone knows it
kings bow down and queens bat their eyes
the streets claim me as their own but the mountains know better
its beer in the morning
wine when i write
and whisky whenever i want
if you think you got what it takes
i am buying the round
step up and see if the crown fits
if i lose it’ll be the final disgrace
i can’t do much but i can drink
and i drink cause i like the taste
fuck you if you don’t like the monster
that i become
i am gonna drink until there is no difference between me and the bottle i am holding …
"they thought i had guts
but they had it all wrong.
I was only frightened of
more important things."

A friend of mine uncovered some old Haikus she apparently wrote and posted them online, I liked this one:

Taught yourself to dance
You had too much alcohol
Re-learned how to crawl

On the Rocks

He preferred a liquid diet
of Absinthe, Gin and Rye
and would never hesitate
to spit power in the eye

He'd never kissed his boss's ass
and claimed he'd rather die

He wound up broken
on the rocks but still thought
that he might fly.
It's always a good day to get ripped!

Knut Hamsun:

Alvilde, I remember last night,
you cried: Kneel!
I drank from your shoe.
There was laughter too.
I did it merely for your appeal.

Alvilde, you reached out a flower.
I stuck myself forward.
You let out a kringe,
a hardy sting.
I tumbled out, for the pitch-black homeward.
"The best drink of the day, was the drink he had in his head before the first drink of the day."
