I love red wine! But I like white wine a lot too!! I really can't decide. Which is the one for you??

If you are aware of any other flavor available, add it too for the discussion.

It all depend on the occasion and/or what you are having with it, if anything at all.

I'd always replace the white with sparkling white, Champagne when I can and it would go with white meats and seafood. Red for other meat or when just sitting and zipping, preferably a red that is big in the mouth over something lean, but both is ok as long as there's some finesse in the finish of the palette.

As to adding "flavors", sparkling wine and Champagne has to be there on the list =)

If I may recommend something without going bananas on the budget I'd recommend a Château La Tour de By, a French wine from Médoc which is very nice. Over here it's about $20 a bottle which should be considered cheap when looked on the underlying qualities of the wine.

Also would like to recommend Brunello di Montalcino at $37, it's a bit leaner but has a very nice finish.

While enjoying it with some food or just straight out of the bottle like right now, some cheap though nice red wine will do.
Not that I don't like white wine, I like that too but the red is most of the times a bit heavier and more relaxing.

Now, stop whining.

I prefer red wine. It's always good, no matter how cheap it is. Whereas with white wine, unless you spend over £20, you'll be drinking horribly acidic piss.

We students wanna uphold the time-honoured tradition of drinking in the square, but it's now illegal to do so with glass bottles. Thus, boxed wine is a godsend :D

I'll not steal the text to post here but the book "Jigger, Beaker and Glasss" has a great section on what wine to serve when. Particularly if you are hosting a 5 course dinner party in the 1940's.

Still the p-rinciples are the same for modern drunkards.
