But seriously, as a Russian I feel our culture is turning to shit. Used to be about drinking, fighting, and science... now it's fast cars and douchebags bragging about how expensive their shoes are. We could all benefit to a trip to the frozen swamp of Siberia I think, with plenty of shitty Russian vodka in hand.

Don't worry, JimLahey, I have Russian colleagues that are geniuses, great in their job, high-standard scientists and can do vodka shots at any time of the day while maintaining intelligent conversation. But with regards to the OP, I agree that Russia's image is deteriorating, it all seems to be about sex and money nowadays, while this does not at all reflect reality in Russia.
