I raise a toast to great men of character. My hope is many more will follow from his example.
Cheers and God Bless.

My deepest sympathies go out to you. A drink will be hoisted to his memory.

To The Judge:

Please accept my humble condolences for the passing of your good friend The Black Douglass. No words can nor should be attempted to make everything better.

It is what it is, and a long life filled with laughter and interesting stories is all that any of us can hope for.

This fresh can of Miller Lite is raised in honor to your friend, (from a newbie here), and no drop of it will be wasted.

RIP Richard Griffiths

Post by GSG »

Sorry if this is a repeat, but a few days ago the actor Richard Griffiths died. If you've never seen Withnail and I please rectify this immediately, it's a brilliant film. He was in lots of other films - Harry Potter, The History Boys etc. - but it was as the strange Uncle Monty that I loved him most.

"The old order changeth, yielding place to new. God fulfils himself in many ways. And soon, I suppose, I shall be swept away by some vulgar little tumour. Oh my boys, my boys, we're at the end of an age. We live in a land of weather forecasts and breakfasts that set in, shat on my Tories, shovelled up by Labour. And here we are, we three, perhaps the last island of beauty in the world."

RIP Uncle Monty.

The Ol' Possum has climbed the Big Tree.

Of course, St Peter's gotta prepare for a possible no-show.

With all due respect to Big Casino and his preferences in voice, George Jones was greatest singer this universe has ever seen, and the greatest it ever will see.

I couldn't possibly count the number of nights I've spent getting ripped to the sound of his voice. No music means more to me.

Goodbye, Possum! And from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.

Cliffie...I wanna argue with you about "greatest singer" but, other than Ray Charles and maybe Sam Cooke, I really can't mount a good argument.
