I was raised on unintentional Melba toast, but the best thing back when was the stone ground wheat crackers that my hippy-injun mom would bring back from the co-op. I have the chipped molars to prove it.
She also brought back Postum and carob chunks.
Those are poor substitutes for better things.
We used to call the morning repast "blecchfast"

Valid point. If I attempt to make sunny side or over easy and try not break the yoke, I often fck it up. *Bacon - Less easy to fuck up but still possible. Start with shitty bacon then fry until it's burned to a shrinky-dink.

If you like Chex™ Mix, I highly recommend you to make your own. It sounds time consuming and that it would cost $47.00 for all the ingredients but it's not. There's a Hot & Spicy recipe floating around online that doesn't disappoint. And you can cut back on the filler crap like those rye bread crisps and pretzels to make way for more delicious nuts (like pecans!) and Cheez-Its. Next time you are at the store, by all 3 original chex flavors, nuts, or whatever, mix it with butter, hot sauce, and spices and bake it to desired level of crispiness. You and your drunkard friends will not be disappointed.

OK my bad everyone so yes evidently this stuff is easy to fk up but I would hope the cooks at Denny's who basically went to culinary community college to learn to cook basic breakfast would have perfected it at some point. It should be bulleted on their résumé *won't fuck up the eggs*. I also will say I was wrong because I just realized Denny's has eggs bennies on the menu. This also belongs in the shit we are ambivalent thread but I have to mention"Combos". They look appealing and seem like they are going to be super appetizing but every time I got them they were kind of a let down. And believe me, I have given every flavor a chance. But...don't get me wrong, in lieu of a super drunken munchie moment, I'm sure they would save the day.

I've always just had them melted on potatoes. Never thought of battering and deep frying them. My life does kind of feel incomplete now.

I think that they're supposed to be put in poutine, but they've never quite made it all the way home from the dairy. Best advice: if you've never had them, you're better off not knowing what you're missing. Save yourself a couple of belt holes.
