Re: 90s rock is now classic rock
Faith No More just reunited too. Although still without Jim Martin- meh. They were probably the first band I was really a fan of. Wasn't much of a Nirvana fan but Soundgarden, STP, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam were in my tape deck. Pearl Jam's Ten is still be one of the best albums ever put together in my book. I was more of a metalhead back then though, Pantera! When they called it quits... I don't think I've been to a concert or bought a cd since then.
I can't write like Papa, you know I just ain't able

RIP Mayhem, as long as I have a heart you are in it.

Speaking of Alice in Chains, I might be going to see them in Chicago in September. I actually like their new stuff. Obviously things aren't the same without Staley, but Cantrell is still rocking it out.

Talking about Alices, is Alice Cooper still alive?

Yes, and doing a night-time radio show here in the states. http://www.nightswithalicecooper.com/Mr Boozificator wrote:Talking about Alices, is Alice Cooper still alive?
Coolest song he ever did?
Shit, I can't narrow it down. He had a tone of cool songs.

My brother had bought the old vinyl album he made when he got sent to the cuckoo house. I loved the packaging, with all those little windows to open.

Re: 90s rock is now classic rock
little part of me died the first time I walked into a 90's bar :(
Even worse though is going into a rock club filled with young kids and they are all dancing to Cowboys from Hell or Killing in the Name. Those songs are now 18+ years old. It's like me in my younger days dancing to Led Zepplin in a rock club, Have they no new music, it's criminal.

I truly haven't enjoyed a "new" tune since about 92'. I liked a lot of Pearl Jam's stuff, and few of the other grungers. After that, nope.....I hold out hope, though.TheBigCasino wrote:they do, and it's absolute crapHardcore Stig wrote:little part of me died the first time I walked into a 90's bar :(

Yeah, they had a good album in 1995Whisky Guy wrote:Dropkick Murphys is about the only mainstream band I like. Blind Guardian, Epica, Nightwish, Heidfolke and other European metal bands really don't get any airplay here.Sonic The Hedgehog wrote:i mean really is there and good current rock music?
