See? If he would have picked up Rum Sodomy and the Lash he would still be with us today.UnkleLemmy wrote:Well after hearing everybody here rave about Shane I had to go out and pick up a Pouges CD. I was looking for Rum, Sodomy and the Lash but they didn't have that, so I got If I should Fall from Grace with God. Incredible fuckin album. I will soon purchase many more.

Waiting for Herb was the first CD I ever owned. Matter of fact, I owned it for a while before I even had a CD player. I'm a Creole/Mick/American that's made the journey and gotten drunk in Ireland, what do you want?
"Haunting" was a great jig from that album.

Outstanding album and the follow up EP Poguetry in Motion capture the early raw sound of the Pouges. Fucking love these cats. Shane was as Malcom McLaren once said once Sid, "a Beautiful disaster."One for the Frog wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2003 2:41 amRed Roses For Me is a must.UnkleLemmy wrote:Well after hearing everybody here rave about Shane I had to go out and pick up a Pouges CD. Waxie's Dargle on that one is such a beautiful melody.

Re: Finally bought some Pouges.
There was a time when I just could not stand the Pogues. Like sticking torture in my ears. But then one day I heard "Worms". I then went back and gave 'Red Roses For Me' and 'Rum, Sodomy and Lash' and found that I liked damn near every tune on those albums. So I guess the moral of the story is when a band you don't like has a song about worms, it might be worth giving them another chance.
