THE MOTHERLAND

Post by ThirstyDrunk »

One week from now the Dayton chapter MDEC wil be heading to Kentucky to travel the Bourbon Trail. The Mecca for all things bourbon. I have a whole list of distilleries and other shit to see, but I was wondering if anyone has done this and I'm always looking for suggestions for obscure things to do and see while we're in the Bardstown/Frankfort/Lexington area.
For 4 days I will be trompin the ground where the shit is made! I plan on going to like 9 distilleries and I may not take the tour at every one but dammit I'm going to visit the source! I can't freakin wait.

Mecca, fatwa and bourbon, all mentioned in the same post! Oh, snap!! (BTW, do you mean this in the Sunni [non-binding] or Shia [binding] interpretation of fatwa?- I prefer the Sunni interpretation as it gives me the [false] sense of control, even though the bourbon is dictating the circumstances)

You are our Mufti, NYDingbat!!!

Religion is the opium of the masses!!!

And bourbon is the facilitator of the acquiescence of free will to the dictates of indulgence. Such is life.

Try and eat some BBQ'd mutton while you're down there. Sliced or chopped, it's a Kentucky delicacy.

This sounds terrific. A friend from Louisville has already sold me on a trip to Kentucky, and i'm sure the photographs and words that follow will only greaten my desire. Enjoy!
