And what exactly, do tell, is wrong with ordering a Long Island Iced Tea?
I suspect that one or both authors of this fine piece of internet journalism might not know what the fuck they are talking about.

Re: Drinks you should be ashamed to order in public
It appears the college session has started. Everyone moving into their dorms or apartments and getting a leg up on their booze cred. I'm surprised that the Pink Squirrel or Cosmopolitan didn't make the cut.
Really....the Black and Tan??? What else? Do you disparage the Manhattan? The Vodka Collins? What about the CubaLibre or the Screwdriver? Are the potential new leaders of academia so willing to part with the Ramos Fizz that they would discard its holiday breakfast attributes?
Before I'd sign on to the esteemed opinion of this fraternal proclamation I'd like to hear their obviously deeply researched treatise of the "circle jerk".

All these I have ordered (and enjoyed):
● Vodka Redbull
● Jagerbombs
● Hard cider
● Black & tan
● Tequila sunrise
● Malibu & ____
● Disaronno
● ____tini
● Sex on the Beach
● White Russian
● Shots with more than one ingredient
● Cosmo
● Long Island Iced Tea
Ordering a Black & Tan in an Irish bar might be a mistake though...

Re: Drinks you should be ashamed to order in public
In the US there are a lot of Irish pubs that are really just bars run by someone who might have an Irish grandparent or something like that. One drink common in such establishments is the Irish carbomb. Once my brother and I went into an Irish pub in Germany, staffed by real Irish people. When my brother ordered an Irish carbomb he got a dirty look. It didn't help that this was about a week after the Omagh bombing.kowalski wrote: Ordering a Black & Tan in an Irish bar might be a mistake though...

I also don't recognize the shame in any of this... but what people expect from bars seems like it's changing. I'm Sick of being in a bar when it's not busy and having the bartender get pissy cause I ordered something other than a beer.

I was in the Viceroy about a week after I took R.A. and his girlfriend there and a couple walks in and she orders an Appletini.

Fuck you, what are you doing in my bathroom?
Wait until my morning beer is over and I am going to pound on your fucking face.
