Damn straight....alcoholism should not be a form of discrimination against certain drinks, its should just be being unable to discriminate against anything with alcohol in as long as its there.
I call this "drunkard universalism", and while it looks great on paper ( I don't subscribe to it ), it's a complete failure, especially in terms of this board.

You get "Hey, all alcohol is good!"

then later it's "who the fuck orders Coor's Light?, who the hell drink alcopops? what a lightweight! from the same posters. for example, from this very thread. No offense to drunkensooner, but this is what I'm talking about,

But Id never order a cosmo. Wver. Whiskey is the best and thats it.

To be fair TBC, my post was tongue-in-cheek.

But I'm coming around to your way of thinking. I would never say anything negative to a person at the bar based upon what they drink. Everyone has different tastes, and diversity is the spice of life.

BUT, if the guy next to me keeps ordering Mike's Hard Lemonade, pretty sure I wont want to be talking to that guy. Or the person that insists on only drinking Budweiser and J*a*c*k D*a*n*i*e*l*s. Hope you have a good time Bro.

Maybe your drinking reflects upon who you are, and I never want to discriminate, but I'll stick with the people who like whiskey (Irish, or bourbon, take your pick) and beer than the cocktail crowd.

I never feel ashamed to order any drink in public-
unless it is an O'Douls. That was when I was pregnant. I felt ridiculous. I would probably feel ashamed ordering a cum shot though.

Whatever. I hate it when people say I discriminate like it's a bad thing. I discriminate (choose one thing above another) every day. I like whiskey more than rum, I like vaginas better than men's buttholes, I like sarcastic people better than idiots.

Doesn't mean I can't drink with people who drink Bud Light, but generally those people are not open-minded and discriminating and it's the Bud Light which is a symptom of their personality.

I don't like people who are NOT discriminatory. Those people are usually idiots. Order what you want, but if you drink Bud Light there's a good chance we won't be great friends. If you drink a cosmo, you are gay. Which is funny because I drink vodka/crans all the time and it's not much different.
Bourbon is my blood.

The dictionary. Open-minded when it comes to drinking means they are willing to try a new beer, instead of declaring Bud Light the best beer ever. You have to be open-minded before you can be truly discriminating. In other words, if you aren't open minded enough to have tried a Belgian, then you aren't being discriminating when you order a Bud Light, you are just being ignorant.

So good of you to clearly and precisely establish what "open-minded when it comes to drinking means" to the rest of us.
